Driving hilariously inefficient vehicles

Since I only see movies every once in a great while, and I’ve only seen 2 this year, I have to say “Spy”.

How was it? I root for McCarthy but she disappoints me in her movie choices. She’s in the new Ghostbusters. Fingers crossed.

I was worried it would be terrible, but it turned out to be pretty good. I laughed out loud a few times.

Maybe they like the killing?
Maybe they drive hilariously inefficient vehicles so they can kill more?
WHO KNOWS!

Normally, I dislike both Nicolas Hoult and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Hoult’s Nux made me like him a bit better again ... despite some weak moments. The lancer, though, was at least as good.
I don’t know ... it had shit for a story, but I was completely sucked in by how the movie looked and felt. The rides. Doof. It didn’t think it would be so shine!

Edge of Tomorrow surprised me in a good way. So-so ending, but such a good ride!

‘Ey Mack, I found this GIF! It’s too rad to just leave it alone on the internet. It’s basically
Fury Road: The GIF

This kinda makes me want to know what the other movie was.
Did you see
Kingsman
?
![]() 06/30/2015 at 15:16 |
|
No. I saw San Andreas, or as it should be called, “Worst Rescue Guy Ever”.
![]() 06/30/2015 at 15:19 |
|
I considered seeing San Andreas for the action and maybe seeing Dwayne Johnson act serious. Was it better than, say,
2012?
Probably.

Forgot about Ex Machina, which I found quite solid as well, despite being a bit quiet.

I loved the story cause they didn’t spell things out. Stuff like the religion, the hyrarchy, the politics, it was all present but never intrusive. No “trade talks” (Phantom Menace lol). They just assumed the audience would be smart enough to A) figure that stuff out or B) not think about it and enjoy the ride. The actual story wasn’t much but it didn’t get in the way of the action, it let the stunts be at the forefront. I loved it so much hahahaha.

I still need to see it. Got so many rave reviews. Pumped for Star Wars though.

Guardians of the Galaxy
. I haven’t seen anything newer than that, and I wait until movies are free on U-Verse, because I pay enough for it I don’t need to see the theatrical release (usually; I plan on seeing
Jurassic World
and
Star Wars
7 in the theater). I might go see
MMFR
if it’s still in theaters later in July.

Guardians is flawless. My friends and I have ended dozens of drunken nights and begun dozens of hungover mornings to it. HOOKED ON A FEELING

HOW DID I FORGET THAT, TOO.
“...
Star-Lord!”
– “FINALLY!”

“By my deeds I honor thee, V8!”
Remember the scene where Ace ( ? ) starts the “War boys!” chant with the guys echoing? After that, I’m pretty sure a lot of the culture in Fury Road consists of ye olde pop culture remnants, e. g. this:
It even has “wild boys always shiiiine!”
What the movie did well, too, was making you believe these people could actually kick your ass if need be ... or ‘cause they will. No Black Widow hair slam, but good old punching, kicking, holding and breaking stuff.
The main storyline itself seemed eerily similar to Waterworld: outcast, running from men and monsters alike, goes to find a better place. Only that Max doesn’t want it for himself, as his place is in the madness.

Pitch Perfect 2 was amazing. I nearly choked on my pop laughing.
Kingsman and Guardians of the Galaxy were really good as well.
I did enjoy Mad Max too though.
